Jo's Etching Prints
Printmaking dates back to 5,000 years ago in China, originating from stone rubbing, and later evolving through traditional folk woodcut New Year paintings to modern techniques such as screen printing and copperplate engraving. It is one of the most common and widespread forms of artistic expression, while also serving as an important cultural and creative medium to document folk customs. Jo's prints are dynamic and layered, using various materials in her work. Among them, copperplate techniques are the most complex, allowing for the creation of the most diverse artistic expressions. In addition to the photochemical etching series featured in this video, Jo also has a unique series of bacterial etchings, which will be compiled and shared for everyone to appreciate in the future.
